PHD position in the field of Earthquake Engineering in NTUA

I am moving to NTU Athens and I am seeking to recruit a PhD Student in the Field of Earthquake Engineering to start no sooner than April 1st 2025.

Project background

Funding is secured for 3-4 years through my ERC grant as well as other projects.
In this project we will experimentally and numerically explore the behavior of the “Rolling Pendulum System”, a seismic isolation bearing aimed at being affordable so that it is applicable in both high- and low-income countries.

Your profile

Successful applicants should hold an MSc in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), have a strong background in Mechanics and Structural Engineering and willingness to perform both experimental and numerical work. Excellent applicants from Geotechnical Engineering will also be considered. Proficiency in written and oral English and Greek is required.
